Resolution #1: Backup your data
What if a lightening strike killed your computer? Would your key financial data be safe? If you are not backing up your key data every day, you are putting your business in jeopardy. Consider a Remote Data Backup Service or something similar.
Resolution #2: Invest in customer relationship software
How do you manage your customers or clients? Do you correspond with them on a regular basis? Did you know that you will make 5 times more money from your existing customers than new ones? Consider an e-mail marketing program or other similar program to make the most of your clientele.
Resolution #3: Procure a good accounting package
As a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, my personal favorite is, of course, QuickBooks. There are other good ones with similar features and functionalities but QuickBooks is by far the best.
Resolution #4: Become a marketing pro
You don't need a degree in marketing to be good at it. You just have to know where to look for help. Is your website working? Consult with an Internet Marketing Specialist. Does your business do better with a traditional method like guerilla marketing? Join a Chamber of Commerce and attend a networking event. Many business relationships form after networking.
Resolution #5: Outsource!
You can't do it all yourself. For those tasks better left in the hands of a specialist, outsource. That way, you're not getting bogged down in minutia when you should be focusing on growing your business.
